Time Factory Adventure Museum in Lainach
At the Time Factory a mystical journey through time that’s full of adventure awaits you. From mankind’s first beginnings through the present day and onward into the future. Everything at the Time Factory is time-critical; adjacent to it is an exhibition of rural handicrafts, which is absolutely worth seeing.
Großglockner High Alpine Road
The most famous alpine road, the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße, takes you right into the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park and to the highest mountain in Austria, the Großglockner (3,798 m) and its Pasterze glacier! The panorama road is 48 kilometres long and includes 36 hair-pin bends. On the ascent to an altitude of 2,504 metres, you will drive through a unique mountain world.
Heiligenblut Gold Diggers’ Village
The fever of the gold rush will grip you too! In the only gold diggers’ village in the Alps, in the Fleiß valley near Heiligenblut. Reconstructing the original, this small settlement has been newly erected on historic ground. After visiting the village, you may even find a small nugget, panning for gold in the Fleiß stream.

Tauern Gold exhibition in the Putzenhof
Discover a superb treasure and trace the threads of a fascinating myth. It’s the first time that the major hoards of the Hohe Tauern have been collected together in one place. This treasure harbours the secret of the Region’s golden magic, and conveys the mystique and fascination of days long gone.
Apriach Stock Mills and Mentlhof
It is not only the natural landscape of the National Park’s core zone that characterises the landscape of the Hohe Tauern National Park Carinthia Region. The cultural landscape shaped by the hands of men and women is also very much part of the picture. The stock mills and the Mentlhof showcase farm in Apriach (municipality of Heiligenblut) are excellent cases in point.
Marterle pilgrimage church
Marterle is the highest altitude pilgrimage church in Carinthia, standing at 1,836m above sea level.
There is an access road from Rangersdorf and it offers a fabulous view of the Kreuzeck Group and the Lienz Dolomites. It is also the starting place for some very worthwhile walking tours.
Winklern Maut Tower
The "Tauern Crystal Treasure” display at the Winklern Maut Tower will take you into the fascinating world of mountain crystals. The artistically arranged mountain crystals and minerals glow mysteriously in the darkened rooms!
The Ragga gorge
The “Gorge of Gorges”: if you are walking the spectacular walkway through the Ragga gorge for the first time, be prepared for jaw-dropping astonishment. Seeing this natural wonder is an absolute must-must. An unforgettable experience, that is also ideally suitable for families, despite its wild setting.

The Großglockner cable cars will take you straight into the fascinating world of the high mountains. Here a breathtaking panoramic view of the Hohe Tauern National Park awaits you, with the majestic Großglockner and over 50 more 3000m+ mountains!
